Small businesses are the key to economic growth. I will fight hard to streamline and protect the interests of small businesses in the Virginia Senate. To boost our economic growth, I will propose a temporary 10% tax cut for small businesses to help them retain and hire new employees.
The regulatory burden on small businesses is also a limiter of economic growth. I will look for ways to improve efficiency and reduce the burden on businesses to comply with State regulations. We should have a hotline for businesses to report overregulation or poor response from the state. We should maximize web applications and track our performance to reduce the government drag on the economy. We need to create an atmosphere that allows business to flourish. As your Senator, I will be that voice.
I am also committed to defending Virginia’s right to work laws. With a union-advocated “card check” being considered in Washington, states will need to actively protect the right to work without interference from a union. As your Senator, I will dedicate myself to protecting this important right for Virginia workers.
