Second Amendment and Crime Prevention
The U.S. Constitution specifically delivers the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms. As your Virginia State Senator will fight to protect that right.
To enact the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, and the right to self defense, I support legislation allowing law abiding citizens the right to carry concealed weapons. I believe this right should be reciprocated between states in a manner similar to how they recognize one another’s driver’s licenses.
The objective is the safety of citizens. Legal gun use provides personal safety. Illegal gun use is a public hazard and must be aggressively prosecuted. Virginia’s project Exile has cracked down on illegal gun use, contributing to a significant drop in Virginia’s violent crime rate. As your Senator, I will work with our new Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to support project Exile and eliminate parole for gun felons. I will also work with US Congressman Frank Wolf on initiatives to fight gang operations in Northern Virginia. We need effective, common-sense law enforcement to keep making Virginia a safer place to live.
